The Stagers break a nail!

The Stagers

This new show on HGTV called The Stagers is pretty excellent. There’s madness and chaos at all times, and I LOVE IT! The hosts are fab and funny. I only saw one episode but I love how it took a real “behind the scenes” perspective. It really is like that… people are fighting and power-playing at all costs. The ingredients for success in this show’s recipe? Spice and sass!

Divine Design Urban Master

Of course, Candace Olson is the Super Star of HGTV. And she constantly rocks my world with her chic, sophisticated and always sensual spaces. Her favorite ingredients? A little crystal, a little chrome, a cool color palette, tons of custom cabinetry, and “divine” textiles. I can’t get enough of her! The latest was taking the 80s out of this tiny master. Tres chic, magnifique! (sp??)

The Unsellables…with attitude!

unsellables

New show on HGTV called The Unsellables is really great! It’s part of HGTV Canada… and I think the British host is fab. She can be brutally honest, but that’s a breath of fresh air. People really need help if they have to sell their home quickly, and it’s best to have an expert opinion when doing so.  I only caught one episode, and the ingredients for the re-design was simple, clean and sexy!! Me likey…

Save My Bath for Rockers

I was speaking with a fan of my HGTV show, Save My Bath, about a recent episode that just aired. She was surprised at the outcome of this bathroom because it was so “out there” (in her words). Well… I was a bit taken aback, as you may imagine. She said “don’t you design a space based on your own good taste?” *Good* being a relative word, of course, because what is good taste? My taste is removed from the equation when I’m designing for other people. After all, people are like snow flakes – there is not one that is like the other.

Before & After: Belisle Family Rocker Bath

Before & After: Belisle Family Rocker Bath

This bathroom was designed for the Belisle family. Hubby used to be in a metal rock band, and wifey was also a musician. They had masks and skulls all around the house, and a poker room tricked out with a flame-motif table. They were fun, young and edgy. So their bathroom had to reflect that. Shabby Chic was not an option.

The ingredients for this Room Recipe: Chrome, lucite, glass and a vibrant color palette.
