I’m hoping to have my son’s new bedroom done in one month for his birthday. Will this be enough time?

In TV time a month to put a room together is like a year to take a bath! In real time, however, a month is great as long as you aren’t doing any major renovating ie. moving or building walls. But if you have a great carpenter, he or she can make a lot happen in 30 days. However, for a regular DIY novice, keep it simple:
- Paint Walls
- New furniture (or give a fresh look to the old)
- New Window treatments
- New linens and bedding
- New area rug
- A few inspiring pieces of artwork (try blowing up family or travel photos and framing them)

This should make your life easier. Now rock it out!

I have two tiny bathrooms with no place to expand. I would like to renovate and try to make them feel bigger if possible. Do you have suggestions?

A large mirror on a wall opposite a window (if possible), clear glass shower doors, reflective surfaces like glass tile, pedestal sink instead of vanity, and a light neutral color palette can make a tiny room feel larger. Less is more so keep it simple.

Wow, nice compliment! Thank you! That fireplace is from Lopi Stoves. Now you can get them with an aromatherapy tray. To get an idea on code requirements and installation check out the forums on hearthtalk.com. Ask a general contractor, or the manufacturer, about whether a certain gas, pellet or wood fireplace is suitable for bathroom installation.

On your show you did home-made candles, can you send me instructions so I can try doing it at home? Your ideas are awesome!
