Iam thinking of adding on to the entire house, to make every room 10 feet larger.thats how the house needed to be built in the first place. if i win , thats what we will do . thank you

  2. jamie walter says:

as i said , i would add to the entire house, why, because its to small.

I love HGTV. I watch it often there are so many beautifully decorated rooms. I enjoy looking at houses being remodeled or refurbished. I can only imagine how wonderful my house could look if I can ever bring out the beauty in it. The curb qppeals are great on HGTV. I have learned a lot from watching HGTV. I am a little more knowledgeable when talking with a contractor or selecting materials. Going along for a ride with HGTV has boosted my pride. Watching HGTV is very relaxing and stress free for me. I enjoy traveling the US and foreign countries with HGTV. The houses rooms and gardens transformations are amazing on HGTV. Thanks for the great programs on HGTV.

  5. HGTV is my very favorite site. I will use the money to redo dated kitchen and redo bath to accomadite my disabled veteran husband. HGTV is so much fun to watch and think how I would love doing the things that get done on different shows. Cable news is getting so mean and depressing that it is a great joy to have HGTV and watch the transformation done on the different shows. Thank you HGTV you are such a popular informative station.

  6. I watch your show every day. It allows me to dream as well as be happy for all those you help to change living styles. I live in Michigan and it gets cold! I live in an old house so the original windows make my heat bill jump! Needless to say, an entire house of new windows would proivde a skip to my heart and a warm place for my son who lives with me. He is 35, has mental retardation and autism. To dream beyond windows of warmth would allow me to extend my living space to welcome his friends and other families with people who have disabilities. I learn from your show. Color is important, placement of things is important, but most of all the love that "lives" in the homes your wonderful design artists share when they work with families is a joy to watch! Thank you for the contest and all the other good work that comes from HGTV.

  7. Cindy Montstream says:

I love to watch HGTV (it is what I wathc the majority of the time) and often see so many things I would like to do to my home. Being a single mother and having two children in college, I don't have the money or time to do most of the things I would like. I have often thought of things I would like to do–new wood floors, granite countertops, bathroom remodel, central air, and there are many repairs that are needed. I would have to prioritize if I won. But my dream would be to have Candice Olsen decorate my whole house.

  8. Bobbette Tanner says:

    Bathrooms in need of renovation.

    I would like hardwood floors.

    Finish replacing enegy saving windows.

Adding a room between the garage and the house.

  9. I love everything on hgtv. I have absolutely no gift when it comes to decorating. That's why I'm in such "awe" of all the designers. But like thousands of people, Candace Olsen just takes my breathe away, everytime I watch her do magic when she transforms a room. I've lived in my very small home for 35yrs. Every room is rundown. I use to love to have holidays here. But now, I'm too ashamed to have people over. Which makes me so sad. OH-what a dream it would be to have Candace come & do her magic at my house. Watching hgtv is such fun, because you get a chance to see so many people change their lives & be proud of where they live. Thank you for that. Barbara E. Williams

  10. Betty Vance says:

I entered for this and was hoping that maybe my name was here for a finalist. I didn't know about it until October 2 and entered and it was and happened to be last day. Just my luck but did get in I can say that much.

  11. I have absolutely no luck when entering these type of things. I purchsed my home about three years ago after moving from California to be closer to parents. My husband and I have had to repeatedly have my father come and stay with us do to his declining health. We had planned to paint our living room and then find out what going on with our upstairs bathroom and later on we would like to update and expand our kithen space. Currently we have our two son's staying with us do do the economy and our daughter just had surgery and finally started back working, but is in need of financal assistance. Do not get me wrong, I have been blessed just to have acquired our house and even if I am not chosen I will remain focused and take care of my family

  12. Angel ottaway says:

    dear hgtv

I have dreamed of redoing my inlaws kitchen since we spent out honey moon in there newly bouse over 10 years ago. the kitchen is dated to some time in the 50's and has done nothing but fall apart on them more and more each year. we resently moved in with them and sad to say that now we have 5 people who cant really cook iv always dreamed of being able to cook but never had a budget to pratice with. if we won i would up date my inlaw kitchen and the back yard for my 2 year old and make it kid safe since they have a pool. if any money is left i would adopt a baby girl that my husband and i dream about .

  13. Andi Grow says:

My husband has traveled for his job as a railroader all of our marriage. He has missed watching his children grow up and has made many sacrifices in order to provide for his family, sometimes traveling as far as 15 hours away from home. After working a 10-12 hour working day, he sometimes had to drive 15 hours just to spend one day with us before having to travel 15 hours back.

We are purchasing a 4 acre piece of land with a foreclosure on it. IT is in terrible shape, and needs to be completely gutted on the inside, and needs a new roof immediately. But it has always been his dream to have some land to raise bees on, and to have a small garden.

We are buying it for a pretty good price, but it will take every cent we have with no money left for repairs.

I would love to give my husband a nice home to retire in so that he can take a much deserved break from the very hard physical labor that he has endured for 34 years. One of the unsung heros of America, a railroader.

  14. I guess every one thinks that when their working a job, there hoping that their job will last a lifetime. But things changed for us we were hoping that we could remodel our home , but things just didn't work out, I lost my job in 2008 then my husband lost his in 2010. But we still have our home. I hope that we might be the next winners of the sweetstakes so we can remodel our home. Have a blessed Day.

  15. Elizabeth Patterson says:

We live in a home that was built for overnight guest who love the outdoors so they would buy property near disney. Every rooms in the house has massive windows which leave little wall space. The kitchen has great views, but no upper cabinets, it style is of the 50's so laminate counter tops, cypress wood walls. The cabinet doors don't shut and counter tops are peeling and coming unglued. It has so much potenial without taking the views away. The master bathroom also needs help. A mutiple mesh of different color green tiles. The toilet and sinks even are green.

  16. Pam Cotten says:

I am a single mom with a 17 year old boy at home. I have a 350 square foot single car garage. Last year I put together a small game room for my son and his friends. I put a wall up and only used half the area.

This year I made a bedroom on the other side of the wall. My son loves his freedom.

However, there is no plumbing outside to be able to add a kitchen and bathroom. I would love to make this space into a one-bedroom apartment. My son will live at home with me until he finishes College and then I could rent the apartment for extra income when my son moves out on his own.

Please help my dream come true. For my son and for my future.

Thank you for considering my application.

I love all the shows on HGTV. Pam

  17. mary canolty says:

Iwould love to have a new second bathroom. The one now is 33 years old.Needs to be up dated. Ihave lived in florida for 33 years now .Had to retire due to economy 2008. hope to save money to do this would love to win a new bath. lOVE my home ALWAYS took great pride in it.Thats my story Thanks .

  18. Mary De La Cruz says:

I watch your show at every opportunity that I get because it's so full of budget minded ideas. The home that I live in right now is an older one and it need some serious updating from the kitchen to the bathrooms. But I'm on a very tight budget and about the only thing I can do is paint. I love to cook and my kitchen is small and needs to be updated. My bathrooms are also very small and I would like to make one of them bigger. My dining area has serious floor issues, concrete which are all cracked [We bought the house like this] and the rest of the rooms well they need help too.

Once again great show I looove it.

  19. Pam Doan says:

Our home was built in 1932. It is small but very comfortable. Homes built then, are lacking closets or storage. We have tried to be creative, making space for everything that families have in 2010.

When I watch HGTV I have visions of knocking down walls, and making the space we have, more funtional. We have lived in our home for 17 years, my husband and I are both 59 yrs. of age, and won't look for another home. We've recently added Real Touch flooring to our living and dining room. I'll never have carpet again!!!!!! We have ceramic tile in our kitchen and hope to carry the Real Touch all the way through the rest of our home. Our bathroom is a disaster!!!! Thats the next project.

If I were to win the makeover, we would do everyhting, we have in mind……….all at once……..instead of waiting between projects to get our desired outcome.

  20. Par Remmert says:

This would be the perfect thing to finish our retirement home. We have been living here for 13 years and never quite got it finished, due to some set backs, and things aren't the same on a fixed income. Our whole home could be done to our perfection.

  21. most any thang is ok with me.

  22. dear hgtv I have always dreamed of a large bedroom, with bath and room to move around in. Would love kitchen and living space all in one.I dream of home repair all the time, guess i will go on dreaming. Thanks

  23. Eileen Seltzer says:

Decorating a home today can be very expensive in today's economy

but with a little imagination, HGTV has provided the

viewers with inspiration and how to make intelligent decisions. I'm impressed with HGTV's vision to tell the home owner that it's very

possible to have the dream come come true!

    Eileen Seltzer

  24. PAMELA SCHULER says:

I dreaming for a Kitchen make over. The home was built in 1974. The faucet and a cast iron sind was installed with cement. It took a friend three hours to put a standard faucet in. He said get someone else to do the sink. The sink is white and chipped. The counter is white formosa which buggled up when the rain got through the window. I cover the stains with a teatowel I have a yellow double oven from 1974 which was given to me when mine broke I hate. My new dishwasher broke down after three years. Sometimes dreams really do come true.

Or a Master Bedroom and Bathroom makeover.

The sliding glass door leaks into the bedroom when it rains. I put towels in the slots to gather the water. I have cork squares on the back wall to help prevent the noise next door but it didn't help. I put a curtain over the shower door so you can't see what the shower looks like. I would be happy for any little thing you could do for me.

  25. PAMELA SCHULER says:

I almost forgot to mention. I love to watch HGTV. The show makes everything look so easy when you know what you are doing.

I would rather go to friends home than have them come to mine.

  26. mike o'shea says:

My wife broke her hip last year and I would like to add a master suite and bathroom to the first floor of our home. I would also like to have new floors in the upstairs bedrooms and the kitchen.

  27. Barry Evans says:

I have a daughter that has cystic fibrosis she needs a germ free inviroment I have done some remoldeling on my mobilehome but it is very old its a1970s adon mobilehome i put hardwood trough most of it because carpet carry lots of germs that my daughter dont need also my yard needs alot of work so that how i would spend the money

  28. Sara Tubb says:

I am 62 years old and have had to replace CH&A, refridgerator, dishwasher, water heater and garbage dosposal in the last two years. I am a nurse and work with Alzheimers patients in a nursing home near my home. I started knocking out walls upstairs to make a nice bathroom and bedroom together and have not had money to finish it because of the other things I have had to replace. I have also had catarack surgery and am paying those bills to. I really need your help. I watch HGTV all the time and have learned so much with your program. Thanks for the learning experience.

  29. Sara Tubb says:

I live in a condo complex with a pool. I bought it in 1996. These were built in 1970.

  30. My husband and I just love HGTV. I guess you can say I'm addicted to it! We watch just about every show. I especially like Curb Appeal and Candice Olsen's show.

We have gotten lots of good ideas from your shows and look forward to watching more of them! Keep up the good work!

  31. Nette says:

My entire home needs work, the roof, kitchen, bathrooms one of which we never use because it is "nasty," the basement ceiling has a hole, I have to turn the switch on the hot water heater when we want hot water,we have holes in the garage doors,etc.. I am thankful for my home and the great thing about my home is that it is across the street from my parents and it has a lot of potiental. I am a single mother on a teacher's salary and tons of student loans. I would love any help I could get.

  32. Claudia Herring says:

Oh my! Definately the kitchen FIRST! House built in 1874, so the

kitchen was an add on many years later. Tear the whole thing out and

start over! There is no cabinet space, no cooking work space and my

husband and I both like to cook. Add a deck out back. New bar b que.

Then I'd tear out my husbands 1960's(?) blue (YUK) shower! And if there was any left I'd put in a new air conditioning unit! I do love HGTV and watch bunches!!! Great great ideas!

  33. Sue Moseley says:

I am an avid fan of HGTV and enjoy the many decorating ideas. The vision of creating a space from total chaos amazes me. I have not had the money to do any renovation on my house and it needs new carpeting, paint in almost every room, and the outside needs lots of work. I am not able to do anything and I plan to live here for many years. When I see how people put hardwood floors, molding around, and even moving walls, I dream of being able to do something to my house. My house was always kept up when my husband was alive.

  34. Brenda Grass says:

If I win the money, My sister & I are going to fix up our gargage so our elderly parents can move in it. Its a 21/2 car. Our Dad has cancer & our Mom has manures & parkiness & they still live by themselves. Dad was a precher for 50 years & is a veteran of WWII & Korea. We are hoping to fix it up so they can still be on their own a little, but close enough for us to take care of them. If their is any left over we will finish our kitchen. We watch HGTV all the time.

  35. Glenda Kahler says:

I watch HGTV everyday and can only dream about remodeling.Being 60 and single, I have to worry about retiring, much less being able to fix my house. There are so many things I would love to do but can't afford. The floors either have carpet/linoleum that need replacing. The builders messed up my master bath, and my air conditioner was put in wrong and has leaked through my ceiling 6 times.Plus,it is fixing to die, and I live in Texas! My kitchen is just OK.I will need to replace appliances soon. But who doesn't want a Dream Kitchen?I have a great back yard, but it is empty, with a falling fence.Closing in my patio is a Big dream. But in reading some others comments, they do need it worse than me. I am Blessed and Thank You for at least this opportunity.

  36. Dena Simon says:

Hi, I would love to win the HGTV great fall fix-up sweepstakes as the house we live in belonged to my husbands family. The house was origionally a CHICKEN COOP. When my husbands parents got married my mother-in-laws father wanted to tear down the CHICKEN COOP and build them a new house. My mother-in-law told him just to fix the coop up to function as a house and they would be happy with that. That is how this house came to be. The origional part of the house (coop) had a livingroom, kitchen, bathroom and a bedroom. That part of the house is at least 70 years old which means the electric is that old. Then after ten years and two sons later they added 2 bedrooms and a bathroom at least 60 years old. The house now consists of a livingroom, kitchen with diningroom combo,2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen consists of 2 small cupboards sink with hardly no counter space, a fridge and stove. An efficieny appartment has more kitchen than this house. We would love to win the $75,000 as this house desperately needs updated. I would love to have a new place and with the $75,000 would build us a new place. This house has so many memories that my husband was born in a corner of the livingroom in 1948.The electric desperately needs updated. So the $75,000 would make our dream come true to make this place a greater place to live. Our sons are ashamed to tell people that this place used to be a CHICKEN COOP. I think it is an amazing place with a great story of how it came to be. Again we would love to win the HGTV great fall fix-up sweepstakes. Thank you, Dena

  37. gayle says:

I have read all the comments and i just would like to give my daughter here room. She had no vactions no holiday for the summer . We have nothing but this house . All the money we make goes to this house so we can keep our home . Please help us give here own room .

    thanks

  38. HGTV has been my best friend for quite some time. Living a simple country life is all I know. Watching HGTV allows me to see different parts of the world that I will never visit in my life time. Since I have never flown, HGTV gives me the opportunity to see and even feel the beauty of new places. I love the hosts who perform their individual specialties. Ideas after ideas are so interesting! I've learned many things from you. When I wake you are with me and when you turn the light out my day has ended. Since I am disabled due to some health problems my income is very low. But, thanks to you, I can fulfill my dreams by participating in your show. What a GREAT job HGTV does! Thank you and please keep up the good work.

  39. Dena LaBellarte says:

I love HGTV and so do my son's. They are 25and 18years old.Mike Holms knows all!

  40. Kimberly Omnes says:

We purchased our house five years ago as a repo. It has good "bones" but needs a lot of cosmetic stuff. It was built in 1977 and had nothing replaced. It sits seven beautiful acres on a ridge and has views of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Ranier. It had a wrap around deck but was rotting so bad my husband had to remove most of it for safety and to keep it from dragging down the remaining parts of the deck that is still functioning. We got in over our heads and would love to do a "green home" makeover. Installing solar and wind power, bamboo flooring etc. Hey HGTV if I don't win the $75000 drawing would you like to do a show on green home remodel?

  41. Christine says:

My little house is 1060 Square feet and has very little common space, so we seldom have people over. Even when we do, we can never accomodate our whole family at once. I will use the $75,000 to create a cozy sitting room, add a second bathroom, and create a great patio for spending time with the people we love.

  42. teresa taylor says:

I would love to bless my 83 year old mother with a remodel of her home. Right now the living room roof caved in. She's still waiting patiently for the insurance company to clear the check before the work can begin. It has always been my desire to bless my mother with a decent kitchen to cook in, because I feel that she is the best self made "chef" in Alabama. She is a foster grandparent at the local elementary school and she also caters food daily at the communitys' request. So…. if she wins, she would no longer be embarrased to invite her friends inside to visist. Her little 980 square foot cottage would be adorable. and I know that it would make all of her almost impossible dreams come true.

JUST A DREAM BUT, DREAMS DO COME TRUE

  45. Ethel says:

    love hgtv

have learned a lot from your programming

  46. Sharon Kalish says:

I live in between Lake Okeechobee and the Jupiter Inlet & suffered over the 25% threshold of roof damage from several hurricanes. My insurance co. had an anti-arbitration clause to boot. Despite what they say, they are not on your side, nor are they pro-active. I am still in litigation My plan is to replace my roof. Then I will update my master bathroom, as there are broken tiles, the shower head broke off, the wallpaper is peeling away from the walls, and there's rust coming through the framed out perimeter of the shower door area as well as the mirror that's got age spots large enough where it cannot be covered by a frame which hangs above the 98 inch vanity suffering from water damage as it's over 20 years old and the ballasts sometimes work and sometimes don't. And, if there's anything left, I will fix some of the kitchen cabinets which are falling apart or replace the counter top of flesh colored laminate with granite or replace my old damaged and cracked 12 inch old floor tile or maybe buy hurricane shutters. Oh the choices!!!!!!

  47. Cammie Meyer says:

I am entering this contest not for me, but for my parents. They are both retired and on a retirement budget, they live in a modest home. My parents have worked all of their lives to give us kids the things we needed. My parents have a very giving heart and have oped their home to people that did not have one numerous times. I would love to be able to give this to them to show how much they mean to me, as well as others they have helped along the way. They don't have alot of years left and I would love to see them enjoy and reep just a little of what that have sewn. Thank You

  48. Holly Warner says:

I watch HGTV often and am amazed at the results of the projects shown. Our house needs several large projects completed just to survive this upcoming Ohio Winter. The roof, the siding, the kitchen sliding glass door, the wood trim that is rotting around the windows, the heat and air conditioner that are pushing their limits now that we remodeled the basement to accommodate our large family with 5 children who each needed their own space. The carpets throughout are original (1996) and adding a full bath to the basement level of the house would go a long way to improving our family's home. The kitchen layout does not support our large family at mealtimes. This contest could be an amazing transformation for our family! Please choose us to participate this fall!

  49. Dede Beedle says:

Totally love HGTV and the host are very inspiring and they make things look so simple and easy, but I just can't seem to make it work. My husband is disabled and we have made a couple of changes in bathroom fixtures, but still need more. Like all middle class working folks (and those that have lost their jobs) it is not easy in today's economy to make our homes into more that what we have. I am so gratful to HGTV for giving each of us the same chance at an opportunity to make a difference in our personal spaces. God Bless each of you

  50. BARBARA DEWEY says:

I retired on 3/1/10 and have traveled visiting family and friends and am now ready to get my home in order. We have lived in our home since 1976 with 2 remodels, one in 1984 and one in 2000. I am now ready to improve my kitchen and baths. I watch HGTV all the time and have gathered many ideas but would love help in the execution. Thanks for your continued programming on home improvements.
