I AM RETIRED AND TAKING CARE OF MY 34 YEAR OLD SON WHO IS A QUADRIPLEGIC (12 YEARS AS A QUAD). I WOULD MAKE SOME NECESSARY CHANGES TO HIS ROOM, RAMPS THAT ARE SORELY NEEDED TO THE OUTSIDE AREAS, AND WIDENING OF DOORS SHOULD I BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN THE $75.000. IF THERE IS MONEY LEFT FROM THESE CHANGES I ALSO NEED A NEW ROOF.
i world like to have a biger master bath room is is so small, only has a tolit and a sink, i can not change cloth in that bathroom , i keep on hiting mysafe aginch the walls. i wish i colud do this makeover.
I really made my house a "Basket Case" during a remodel. Of couse I did it myself so it's not finished. I removed the formal dining room to make a big closet, no it was supposed to be a pantry of some kind, it's a closet though. Moulding not done, appliances don't match, some old, some new, some white, some black. Old cabinets, new sink, Pergo Floors everywhare. Yuck. Anyway , I would redo everything to include new Kitchen, Pantry, Dining Room and Some floors. Help!!!
this was my mother 's dream and disire to have her house redone this house is over fifthy years old and i have wanted to do this all my life but have not had the money to do so. this would be life long family dream come true so if i won this it would be a blessing for me and my family. thank you.

I have a wonderful house, Mid-Century Modern which I love but I hate my Master Bedroom and Bathroom. I honestly thought I could live with the pink tile, tub and toilet and sink but I really can't I found fabulous tile but I would not know how to put it all together but I loose a piece of the wretched pink tile every other day so this is my chance to do something really slick and modern with your help!!!!!

I just en herit a home, and moved to this quiet neighboehood for my 2 year old twins to bw able to play outside. the kitchen is a disater no hot water, i have to boil it to wash dishes….I also lost my job from being sick for so long…..i have started to paint, but really need help…..please help me make a better space to live ofr my twins so I can cook for them.
My husband became disabled two years ago and had to end a 32 year career in quality manufacturing. It has been a tough adjustment for him – he's always been very active outdoors with little interest in inside hobbies. We're blessed to have a nice home, but I know we will need remodeling in the future as his mobility declines. I don't know how we'll be able to afford to make these changes…
in the last couple years things have been really hard, I lost my job and have not found one yet and my husband became disable, he has
26 years of military experience and had to leave what he loved to do.
he is on dialyses and with 5 years list to go. I would love to take some of he's worries away by fixing our home that is just not working for us. all the rooms are small with 1 small bathroom, we still have laminate counter top from the 70's and wallpapers. My one wish is to see him healty, happy and not worry about the house. I want to give him a special space/office just for him to relax, he loves to watch sports,history channel and listen to music however he is in a very cramp spot. Please help…

My aunt and her kids have been living with my grandmother,because when katrina came through it rained in there house . There is black mold everywhere and they don't have the money to rebuild or even clean it up. They need this more than anything right now. They have lived at my grandmother home for 6 years now and need there home back. Please help them.
My husband and I were finally able to purchase a home in SW Florida to retire in. We have not owned a home for the last 12 years due to finances. We had to go FHA as again funds were limited due to my layoff and my husbands job is being threatened by a tyrant boss. We felt we had to buy now while he still has a job and our house payment will affordable for retirement. My husband & I feel we could write a book on what not to do when buying a home FHA! This buying experience brought us both to knees wondering why we were being punished, but we made it and would love to upgrade our new/old homes bathrooms, roof and some flooring.

I'd love to have my daughter win the money,so she can have her entire house remodeled.Her and her husband have 5 sons.The attic was never done for 2 of them to share.There are 4 of them in one room.The oldest boy has a very tiny room.They bought the house as a handiman special.only they never had or have enough money to fix it up.Some rooms need new ceilings others walls.It needs the porches replaced and the one bathroom repaired.The other one can use some fixing up too.You would have to see the house to see how much work it needs.I live in a mobile home, older yet nice with one acre of land.As I said I'd rather see my daughter win.
I love watching hgtv, however Iam getting old cant do too much to the house. My house was built in 1948. My husband and I have done a few updates before he was injured in a serious accident, I especially would like to have my kitchen and living room redone.Thank you. JoEllen Mathews

My husband and I are retaired he had three strokes last November but thank God he is much better now.
We had construction work done on our home after Katrina in 2005,that same year I fell and damaged my spinal cord,but thank God I am able to walk, it left me with nerve damage in both legs and I am in pain all the time. We can't work any more so we can not afford to have the work done in our master bedroom and bathroom.We need out master bedroom and bathroom done over to make it easier for me to get in and out of the tub or shower but the insurance money we received did not cover those rooms.We watch Hgtv everyday and the make overs you guy's do are outstanding.All of the programs are great and the transformations you do can't compare to anyother program we have ever seen on TV.Keep up the good work HG your viewers love you.
I am in the process of buying my gandmothers home. She passed away 9 years ago and ever since I have dreamed of fixing up the house and having my grandchildren grow up there. The current owner has done some beautiful work and also electrical, plumbing and structural work. However, there is a lot more to do. The furnace and ac have to be replaced. It needs windows and new siding and there are lots of unfinished projects. I would love to restore it to the family gathering place that it always was when I was growing up. My Grandmother loved her home and family. She would be so happy to have her traditions carried on. I live in the house next door right now. My son and grandchildren will be living here. I have already started clearing the path for them that my children walked to visit their grandmother. They can walk the same path to visit me and their grandpa..
Our family is growing and we need to expand the dining room so every one can be seated at the table doing family diners
Hi my is Jerrie, I am paily hadicap. I would love to have a whole house make over so its easier for me to get around, but Love to have my helper tnd his wilfe ( cannot spel} their house is really in need the the make over he helps so many people and doest have the money to do over his house he had lived in this house for over 50yrs this is the house her grew up in so please do theirs and if there is any money over maybe my laundry rm where it is easier to get in and my bathroom so I can get in the tub.

I've been prepping the outside of my house taking down old siding. I bought some brick and some limestone to compensate for not having to go all around the house. Next put in energy saving windows and start prepping for Bricking.
I Love to watch hgtv. We bought our land with a mobile home 28 yrs ago with plans to build our own home on the top of our hill over ooking a pond one day. But……. you know children, college, monthly, bills etc. Well any how thanks to hgtv it helps to have access to a do it yourself endless information.
Our mom & Dad have always had a dream to build a house on the hill of our property. They both are hard working folks. We talked our mom into entering this contest becuase its a home improvement contest. She would never enter any other contest that would better serve someone else in need because she says we have all we need. But we think she is giving up on her dream to one day afford that house so she caved in and entered. So we are also trying to give it a little boost. She thinks if she wins the money will be used to improve the mobile home but we think it will better serve better as a down payment to start a simple house. We are living at home and our Mom & Dads has many friends here that Iknow would volunteer on the inside if we can get the walls up.

I watch HGTV all the time, this is my favorite show. I dream of a kitchen like I see on the show sometimes, hardwood floors, a tile shower, a room addition for my pool so I can have my formal living room back. Many things can be done with this money, so I hope that I'm the winner.
