Cabin Sunroom for Bird Lovers
Swapping out a French Country sun room for a log cabin inspired space that displays a collection of antique bottles and provides hours of fun bird watching was certainly an interesting design dilemma. But I pulled it off with a committed team and hours of designing, sewing, sawing, hanging, painting, etc etc–you know the “drill”. Here’s the recipe…I re-purposed their existing furniture and used some fun cost cutting strategies.

Ingredients:
Bed in a Bag plaid pattern (used for cushion and pillow covers, window treatments)
Maps & plexi-glass (for coffee tabletop display)
Birch tree stumps and bark (lamps and candle holders)
Chocolate brown spray paint (for rattan furniture)
Large seagrass rug
Natural bamboo shades
Deep red wall paint
This room recipe was a pretty big transformation. We put in a birdwatching station and a table for the homeowners Card Night Fridays. It’s truly an adult getaway that feels like the Vermont dream home that they want to purchase someday.
