Rock n’ Roll… stone in the home

My design from HGTV's "Save My Bath"
I don’t know about you, but I love the look of the Italian white Carrera or Statuario marble. I’ve used it in many of my kitchen and bath designs and it works with modern and traditional spaces. I like it’s clean, sleek look and also it’s history. Plus there’s nothing like picking stone from a huge slab that’s been cut from the earth. You can’t get more green than that!
Fashion sometimes takes it’s cues from home design or history – the lines often cross over. Case in point, Jeremy Scott’s silk dress resembling a Greek marble column. Strange, interesting and definitely artistic!

And you don’t have to “go antique” if you want a cool table with marble table top. Eero Saarinen’s pedestal collection includes a dining, side and coffee table. It’s been over 50 years since Saarinen designed the Tulip Collection. And, it rocks! (pun intended) Available at Knoll.
